This year Annecy is offering you MyHomeFestival to discover a selection of free films online, accessible by all.

From 9th to 30th June 2014, you'll be able to watch:

  • the official selection of commissioned films in competition
  • three special programmes, shown exclusively online, presenting stop-motion animation (The Animated Dreams of Nukufilm 3), the McLaren legacy (Shapes) and Pierre Hébert at the NFB.

With MyHomeFestival, Annecy is bringing animation closer to everyone by showing a taster of the films shown during the Festival.

McLaren Now

The Annecy Festival and the NFB have collaborated on a special programme devoted to Norman McLaren, to celebrate the centenary of his birth.

To highlight McLaren's innovation and exploration, which is still being felt in contemporary work of today, discover:

  • a selection of films by some of McLaren's heirs and filmmakers of today, shown on the NFB website
  • two similar programmes, shown as sneak previews during Annecy 2014
  • a programme of films shown exclusively online on MyHomeFestival

In parallel, the Annecy museums are also celebrating Norman McLaren with:

  • an exhibition at the Musée-Château: Norman McLaren Inheritance & Pierre Hébert
  • a cine-concert in the Musée-Château courtyard: with Rolling over "Blinkity Blank", Pierre Hébert will pay tribute to McLaren and to his radical and precursory films
  • a book about the artistic affiliation between McLaren and Pierre Hébert, co-edited with l'Œil publications
  • an open-air screening on the giant screen in the Musée-Château courtyard: La Plante humaine by Pierre Hébert, a key work that keeps in line with McLaren's films

A whole programme dedicated to celebrating this animation pioneer!

  • The latest productions directed by Marc James Roels and Emma de Swaef, Wendy Morris and Michael Palmers
  • Lettres de femmes by Augusto Zanovello, winner of the Audience Award at Annecy 2013

Orange, a partner of creation and animation

Orange supports creation and is offering an original digital operation!

This creative experience will be described before the open-air screening on the Pâquier. Two graphic designers will be put to the test to improvise and create an animated character by following directions from the audience. The whole thing will be interactive and seen on the social networks!

It will be the spectators themselves who will choose the future character's features and the audience will vote for their favourite via Twitter by using the hashtags #Orange and #annecyfestival.

Starting tomorrow, you can find the two improvised characters on the online Daily Newsletter, then vote for your favourite via Twitter using the #Orange and #annecyfestival hashtags to elect the best creation.

Voting will be open until Friday 13th June at 4 pm and the winner will be announced the next day on the Daily Newsletter.

Participate in this interesting experience! A tweet will be selected at random and the lucky tweeter will win a fun prize!
